Q: How to use Rising’s file monitoring whitelist function?
Solution
A: Right-click the Rising Antivirus icon (looks like an open umbrella) in the system tray, and select File Monitoring Whitelist from the pop-up menu.
The file monitoring whitelist includes file whitelist and directory whitelist.
1. File whitelist
Files added into the file whitelist will not be monitored by Rising file monitoring function. You may add trusted files that need no monitoring to this list.
Procedure:
•Right-click the Rising Antivirus icon (like an open umbrella) in the system tray, and select File Monitoring Whitelist from the pop-up menu.
•Select the File Whitelist tab.
•Click the Add button and enter the file path directly or select the path by clicking the button at the right hand.
Click OK to exit.
Notes:
Whitelisted files will not be monitored, but will be scanned when manual scan or shortcut scan is used.
2. Directory whitelist
Directories and subdirectories added to the file whitelist will not be monitored by the Rising file monitoring function. You may add trusted directories and subdirectories that need no monitoring to this list.
Procedure:
•Right-click the Rising Antivirus icon (like an open umbrella) in the system tray, and select File Monitoring Whitelist from the pop-up menu.
•Select the Directory Whitelist tab.
•Click the Add button and enter the folder path directly or select the path by clicking the button at the right hand.
There are two more options: Extensions and Include Subdirectories.
Extensions: You may specify which types of files are not monitored.
Include Subdirectories: If the excluded directory includes subdirectories, you may check this option to exclude the subdirectories from file monitoring.
Click OK to exit.
Notes:
The files in the directory whitelist will not be monitored, but will be scanned when manual scan or shortcut scan is used.
